About the Author
Hello everyone! I'm the site's author, Christopher Jethro. I have a strong passion for Bible teaching and it is my joy to help believers become rooted in biblical truths. I know I am called to be a teacher and pastor in the Body of Christ - my focus being to help disciple believers in sound theology. I'm a CFNI alumni, an intern under Pastor Scott Boyd, and have graduated from both the Harvest Missionary School (missionary certificate) and from the Dallas Baptist University (bachelor's in theology). I'm also the author of my own Bible version, the Jethro Study Bible, which is currently a work-in-progress. I'm currently a full-time student studying to achieve my Master's degree in Software Development & Programming.
Words that best describe my personality include analytical, philosophical, humorous (mostly satirical), and meticulous. I am married – now six years – to my wonderful wife, Sarah. Outside of college studies, prayer, and Bible studies, my hobbies include Star Trek, video gaming, and voice impressions.
My testimony in brief
At a very young age, I became involved in the occult and became a Satanist. I was full of profanity, demonic obsessions, and sometimes violence. I invited many demons into my life and had a few occult powers. My mother prayed earnestly for my salvation. As a result, one day it was as though I had woken up with an overnight change, no longer interested in the occult. I began to read the Bible and experienced a magnetic draw towards Jesus and His words. I got saved, baptized, and began to attend church regularly.
I wish I could say it was all good from then on but unfortunately, I fell into deception. A few years later, I became involved with sexual sins and drugs, and had developed a highly unbiblical theology consisting of Christian inclusivism (I often explored and embraced other religious beliefs), theistic evolution, Arianism, etc. Additionally, I often felt distraught with confusion stemming from countless questions I had about God and religion. Despite my sins and false theology, deep down I did long to know the true God. (I want to clarify that during this time, I still considered myself a type of “Christian” although I was clearly not a true Christian.)
My life changed forever one day at a Christian church camp when several church pastors laid hands on me to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. I felt as though I were struck by a lightning bolt of supreme love and I wept uncontrollably as the Spirit and Presence of God flooded my life. I knew that Jesus was real and I experienced His love in an incredible life-changing way. This powerful spiritual experience caused a dramatic change in my life whereby – by God’s grace and power – I repented of all my sins and began to live a holy life. Through countless hours of Bible study, the Holy Spirit also revealed truth to me so that I understood the error of my former beliefs and became established in biblical theology. Later on, I was also powerfully delivered from the many demons I had invited into my life during my years of Satanism, and finally experienced a freedom I had never known before.
I have had many other wonderful experiences with the Lord, but this will suffice for a summary of how God has amazingly saved and changed my life. I praise the Lord for the mercy, patience, and compassion He has had to save me, deliver me, and reveal truth to me. Due to my past, I now have a strong zeal to expose the false doctrines I once embraced and instead help other believers become rooted in biblical doctrine. My love for the study of the Word, however, does not supersede my equal love to seek God and experience His intimate presence.
